The weekly learning edit
Bring Learning Games into Your Weekly Routine
A game can give you a playful way to explore a subject together. Start with what you want to practise, try a short session, and leave time to talk about what happened.
Decide what the game is for
Look for an activity that matches a specific interest or skill: words, number patterns, building, storytelling or answering questions. A broad education label is not enough to establish the right fit.
Check age guidance, reading demands, purchases and whether play involves contact with other users. Try the game together before treating it as an independent activity.
Connect the game to something off screen
After a building game, draw a plan for a new structure. After a word game, use a few words in a story. The follow-up gives you another way to see what the learner understood.
Some games are mainly for imagination or entertainment. It is fine to make room for those too, without claiming that every game teaches a school subject.
Make the ending part of the plan
Choose a stopping point before starting: one round, one task or a short time block. Leave time to save the work and talk about a favourite moment.
The chart entries below identify apps found during collection, not tested educational recommendations. Check the current app listing before trying one.

A simple week to try
Change the times, activities and durations to fit your learner and existing commitments. Leave room for rest and unexpected changes.
| Day | Time | Activity | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tuesday | 4:00 pm | Try a word or number game together | 20 min |
| Thursday | 4:00 pm | Draw or explain something from the game | 15 min |
| Saturday | 10:00 am | Play a family quiz | 25 min |
Put the plan in your calendar
Replace the bracketed date with the Monday of your chosen week, adjust the activities, and paste this prompt into Magic Generate.
For the week starting Monday [YYYY-MM-DD], create these events: Tuesday at 4:00 pm: Try a word or number game together for 20 min. Thursday at 4:00 pm: Draw or explain something from the game for 15 min. Saturday at 10:00 am: Play a family quiz for 25 min.
Review the proposed dates, times and durations before choosing Add to calendar. Check for overlaps, then publish the calendar if you want your family to follow it. After making changes, republish to update the same shared link.
Follow the step-by-step Magic Generate guide →Does a popular game guarantee learning?
No. Look at what the learner actually does and can explain afterwards. Chart popularity alone cannot establish educational value.
Give your next idea a place in the week
Start with a few manageable sessions. Keep what works and adjust the rest as you go.

About the sources and this edition
The saved collection covers 11 Sept 2026 to 17 Sept 2026. It targeted Australia, China, the United States and Europe with partial coverage. The sampled European app storefronts are Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
News results have not been promoted to recommendations. This guide presents related stories separately; inclusion does not establish popularity, and headlines may include promotional claims. Unrelated chart entries are omitted. The practical plans are editorial examples, separate from the collected data. No comparison with a previous snapshot establishes growth.
