Start Learning Coding and AI with a Small Project

Begin with something you want to make: an animation, a quiz or a tiny program. A visible result gives your learning sessions direction and makes it easier to decide what to practise next.

Pick a starting point, not every tool

A visual programming activity can be a starting point for someone new to coding; a text-based course may fit a learner ready to work with typed instructions. Try a sample before choosing.

For AI learning, separate understanding the tool from letting it complete the task. Ask what information went in, what came out and how you could check the result.

Build in time to experiment

After a lesson, change one part of the project and observe what happens. Keep the project small enough that you can explain the instructions or code you used.

If an AI tool suggests code, read it and test it in the intended learning environment. Avoid entering personal or school information into an unfamiliar service.

Choose resources from their actual lessons

Announcements about AI education do not show whether a programme is open to your family or appropriate for a beginner. Check the provider, age requirements, prerequisites and dates.
