Export to Apple Calendar or Google Calendar
Take your saved events into Apple Calendar or Google Calendar. Both use the same .ics calendar file, which you can download from the export dialog or by asking Magic Generate. You do not need to publish your calendar or connect an account to download it.
A prompt to try
Open the calendar you want to export, then send this request in Magic Generate. You can also say “Export to Google Calendar” or “Generate an .ics file”.
Export to Apple Calendar
1. Check the calendar you want to export
Choose your calendar and check its saved event dates, times, and details. Add at least one event before exporting. If you have just generated a proposal in AI Chat, select Add to calendar first.
The download includes all saved events in the selected calendar, including events outside the week currently on screen. It includes titles, times, descriptions, links, and locations when present.
2. Download from the dialog or AI Chat
Open Import / Export calendar, choose Apple / Google Calendar, then select Download calendar (.ics). Save the file on your computer.
Alternatively, open Magic Generate and send one of the export requests above. Chat starts the same calendar file download and shows import instructions. An export request does not create new events.
3. Import into Apple Calendar
On your Mac, open Calendar and choose File → Import. Select the downloaded .ics file, then choose the calendar where you want the events to appear.
Check the imported event dates and times in Apple Calendar.
4. Or import into Google Calendar
On a computer, open Google Calendar and go to Settings → Import & export. Choose Select file from your computer and select the downloaded .ics file.
Choose the destination calendar, then click Import. Check the imported event dates and times. The export dialog also has a link to Google Calendar import settings.
5. Understand what happens when plans change
The file is a snapshot of your saved events. Later edits in School Calendar do not automatically update Apple Calendar or Google Calendar. If plans change, download an updated file and review the existing imported events before importing again to avoid duplicate or outdated entries.
Repeated events export as their saved occurrences. If your calendar hides dates, the export still uses each event’s saved date; it does not create an indefinitely repeating weekly schedule.
For families who need a link you can update, use Publish calendar and republish when plans change. A published read-only link is separate from this file export.
